Daniel Bunny

I just HAD to make this amigurumi bunny! As soon as I saw it, I had to start it. It just looks so much like my son, Daniel. He's living on the university campus and I thought this little bunny would be a fun way to remind him of home away from home and to remind him of what a nut his mother is.

This is so adorable. How do you make the ears? OK, so it's probably in the pattern... so how do you read the pattern in a book that appears to be in Japanese?
Love your work. Just becoming fascinated by amigurumi myself...

Thanks for adoring him! you make the ears in a series of increases and decreases, then you add a wire...all bent up and shaped withing the ear before attaching them to the head. The arms and legs are wired as well, but they are also lightly stuffed with some fluff. To read the Japanese Amigurumi books I had to search for some Katakana and other symbols of the Japanese written language, then by sheer 'decoding'I could match the symbol for 'ear', 'head' etc. You can make out which are 'increase' or 'decrease' by looking at the chart. Once you teach yourself the chart, it's fairly easy. One thing about the Japanese/Chinese books is, they illustrate EVERYTHING! I love all the books and they are really well worth whatever you pay for them. Happy 'amigurumi-ing' to you...hope you post some little creations of your own.
